- Launching the Clean and Green Campaign to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness among Singaporeans
- Developing the Marina Barrage, project that turned Marina Bay and Kallang Basin into a freshwater reservoir, providing water supply, flood control, and a new lifestyle attraction. It quickly became a tourist attraction after its opening.
